John Stevens
ON THE FLY is written by John Stevens, an award-winning British journalist studying at City University London.
I am currently on the Newspaper Journalism MA programme at City University London and have been awarded a bursary from the Scott Trust.
My work experience includes a month at the Guardian, where I wrote a number of stories, including two on the front page and one that became the day's most read news article. I have had extensive experience on local newspapers, writing numerous splashes and page leads. I was editor of Exeposé, the Exeter student newspaper, which was awarded NUS Student Publication of the Year under my editorship. Several of my news stories and interviews have been picked up by national newspapers. I recently sold work to the Daily Mail and have blogged for
Journalism.co.uk.

I graduated from the University of Exeter with a degree in Economics & Politics. During my course I spent two months working for the professional services firm Deloitte.
I am interested in news media, social networking and how they are starting to work together. I would love to hear from you if you spot a news organisation doing something innovative on twitter or you yourself are responsible for managing an organisation's twitter feed.
A selection of my cuttings are available here.
